A question: would it be ok to use
tcx.ensure_ok().check_coroutine_obligations(...)here? Or is that what the comment is explaining?Uh oh!

IIRC, We care about the returned result here so we can't use
ensure_ok.Or am I misunderstanding the behavior of
ensure_ok?Uh oh!

It's confusing:
ensure_okgenerally means "ignore the return value". However, thecheck_coroutine_obligationsquery is marked with thereturn_result_from_ensure_okmodifier. Which means that usingensure_okwill returnResult<(), ErrorGuaranteed>. See this function for full details, especially the comment at the bottom.As per that comment, using
ensure_okhere means you sometimes get a slight optimization where we can skip the query when doing incremental compilation. My guess is that this would be ok, i.e.ensure_okwould work here.There was a problem hiding this comment.
