Hi! I'd like to add FrostByte to the System Maintenance section.

FrostByte is a lightweight background daemon for Linux (GNOME/Wayland) that auto-suspends inactive applications using SIGSTOP, allowing the kernel to reclaim RAM instantly. It's a modern, zero-config alternative for better memory management on desktop Linux.

Features:

  • Zero dependencies.
  • Native GNOME/Wayland support.
  • Audio-aware (won't freeze apps playing music).
  • Smart process tree handling.

Thanks for maintaining this awesome list!

Hey - I've left some high level feedback:

  • The FrostByte description reads a bit marketing-heavy compared to neighboring entries (e.g., "save GBs of RAM"); consider rephrasing to a more neutral, technical description like "automatically suspends idle apps to reduce memory usage on GNOME/Wayland".
