I'm not planning a HA integration tbh - this isn't a system that I use. HA is a pretty large ecosystem though, so I wouldn't expect it's too long before somebody develops one. The main blocker was that nobody knew what the A2 protocol looked like, but now that its available (in this library) there's no reason why integrations can't go ahead.,

It would be interesting to have a go. I would need to first setup a HA environment to develop on. All time permitting!

I've been able to get this partially working using AppDaemon. However, it doesn't like the subscription loop, so I'm trying to set up a simple automation that can be called every few minutes to update the device state, but the "get_device_status" function doesn't seem to exist in the version of your script that pip is pulling in. Can you update the release @strobejb ?

I managed to get that command to work by pulling directly from github but then discovered get_device_status doesn't give the same information as subscribing to updates. Is there any way to pull that same data manually rather than subscribing?

ok, it looks like I didn't release the last change that includes get_device_status. I'll push a new release shortly. Note that:

• I've updated the API to include get_device_status
• Lots more information is returned now, because there is more data available from the Andersen cloud API after their recent update. It just requires the graphql query to be updated to ask for the additional fields.
• There is a breaking change now - you'll need to change how you handle the JSON return values. See the readme for the updated example.

I haven't had time to get some robust automated tests in place, but it's on my todo list.

Thanks, but there seems to be something broken in the new commits - the init file is trying to import a ".api" file that doesn't exist. Here's the log:

OK, I think I've fixed that.

I've spent the time getting some tests in place as well.
Hopefully this should mean basic problems like that are less likely to creep in.

@SheriffOfNotts here's how I got my Andersen data into HA:

1. Install AppDaemon from HA add-on store. Get the File Editor add-on as well if you don't already have it.
2. Set up AppDaemon with the following config:

(Note: because AppDaemon re-installs the python packages every time it starts up, I've set it to pull a specific commit from this repository so that any future changes don't break my implementation. If you don't care about this you can streamline your AppDaemon setup by removing git from the system packages list and pulling andersen_ev from PyPI instead.)

3. Create a new file in /appdaemon/apps called andersenMonitor.py and paste this code into it:

(Note: I found I was getting some random "charge" events that were a few seconds long and didn't actually deliver any power to the car, so the loop pulls out the most recent charge session from the history that lasted longer than 60 seconds. If you don't want to do this for some reason, you can delete the if statement.)

4. Add the following to your appdaemon/apps/apps.yaml:

(Make sure to input your email and password in the above.)

Start or restart AppDaemon and, when the first loop fires a minute or so later, you'll get two new sensors in HA: one called AndersenA2ChargePower and one called AndersenA2LastCharge. The former just gives the current charge power in kW. The latter gives you the energy used in the last charge in kWh as the sensor state, with some other values including duration of charge etc in the attributes.

Apologies it's taken a while(!) to get this installed. It's working. Is there any way to schedule charging times?

I haven't tried since my charger is just set to run during my cheap energy times at night, which are fixed. I'm sure it would be possible but it would definitely require adding more stuff to the AppDaemon config.
